This charming debut has the uncommon quality of being backloaded. Listening occasionally to the first three tracks brings me powerfully back to 2021, a very vulnerable period, which feels a long time ago. (I hear the rest of Phantom Handshakes' oeuvre on the daily!) Drift Away - simple as a snowdrop - infallibly, heart-wrenchingly beautiful - is surely my favourite song of all time.
